Title Options Romance in Oil: "Wine for Two" – A Palette Knife Exploration

There is something extraordinarily vivid about capturing an intimate moment through pure texture. In my latest artwork, I explored the quiet dynamics between two people sharing a glass of wine, focusing heavily on atmospheric warmth and tactile depth.

Every passage of this canvas was sculpted exclusively using a palette knife. By applying thick layers of oil paint directly to the surface, the scene takes on a structural, almost three-dimensional quality. The sharp edges of the knife define the figures of the man and woman, while rich, blended impasto strokes bring life to the table setting, glasses, and ambient lighting surrounding them.

Working with a palette knife forces a balance between spontaneity and precision. Instead of relying on fine brushstrokes, shape and emotion are conveyed through bold color shifts, physical paint volume, and light playing across the sculpted surface.
